Sam Carmody is an award-winning songwriter and novelist from Geraldton on the rural coast of Western Australia.
His essays and short fiction have been published widely online and in print, including in ABC's The Drum, Arts Hub, Griffith Review and The Review of Australian Fiction.
His first novel The Windy Season was long-listed for the Indie Book Award, shortlisted for the Australian/Vogel’s Literary Award and Territory Read Book Awards and won the Readings Prize for New Australia fiction.
He has also won a prestigious West Australian Music Industry (WAMi) song award.
He is currently living in Darwin, Australia.
